Snowbirda are still heading back
I recently saw a bumper sticker that said “happiness is 10,000 canadians heading north with a New Yorker under each arm” Well…I can relate to the issue of added traffic, lost visitors, longer lines etc, HOWEVER, I never lose sight of the fact that the snowbirds double our cities population during season adding to the tax base and overall business. This is crucial and I thank them for that. They come into our store about this time of year and ship their year round “stuff” back north every year along with any treasures they purchased while here during their stay. I say thank you for that!

Not bad…to our knowledge, none of the packages we that we packed were damaged in shipping. There were a couple of self packed packages that received some damage. We wish that wasn’t the case…sometimes it’s best to let us pack things for you.
Only one mis-delivery where the labels were switched at our end. Given our volume this Holiday season that is not too bad. We intercepted the two packages, had them rerouted to the correct destinations using overnight service.
As people handle the estates of their parents/grandparents or their downsizing of homestead, keep us in mind for shipping of volume heirlooms or small to medium sized furniture. We specialize in palletized freight of multiple boxed items coupled with small and medium sized furnishings.
IN STATE SHIPPING of a large item? We offer our own personal shipping service within the state of Florida. If it fits in our panel van, we can ship it. This is advantagous for several reasons:1) We schedule the pick up and delivery to fit your and your recipient’s time lines. 2) Least amount of handling 3) Competative rates. Items shipped include oversized paintings, antique furniture, dining room sets, oversized oriental rugs and pets!

We are still in negotiations with Commodore Realty regarding a new lease. They are increasing our rent on our current space by 22%. Did someone not tell them there is a recession going on? Did they not notice they have 4 anchor vacancies and 2 other vacancies. We may have to give them one more vacancy in that we might have to cut our store in half and take just unit 609. That will add one more vacancy for them and help us keep our costs down. We will have to eliminate several box sizes and make other changes…you gotta do what you gotta do!

Why does someone rent a mailbox from Sarasota Pack and Ship? We will sign for your UPS and Fed Ex packages as well as your US mail. The post office only accepts mail and makes you wait in a long line to pick up your mail you have to sign for. The post office will NOT accept your packages for UPS or FedEx.
Our customers can give their Home Office a real business address so you don’t have to use a residential address. Our box mail is usually up and ready in your mailbox by 11:00AM Monday – Saturday.
How much is a mailbox? One year is $84.00 which is only $7.00 per month. Mention/print this blog and get an additional 20% off a one year contract. That’s only $67.20/year which equals $5.60/month…must be paid one year in advance. Enjoy your mail!
Like them or not, they are here for a while. You might need to “negotiate” with your mortgage company (if they are willing to do so with you) about adjusting your existing mortgage. If so, they will probably provide a series of documents for you to sign, date and sometimes notarize.
They usually will give you a PREPAID UPS or Fed Ex overnight shipping label to return the docs to them with.
